A Few Case Histories

Copywriting & development director

Pepper’s needed a copywriter who could match the tone and style of their innovative model of animal welfare. Pepper’s provides a lifetime of love for senior rescue dogs on their good days, bad days, and last days. This premier dog retirement community in Colorado adopts senior dogs from area shelters and provides them a lifelong home at the Pepper’s ranch. It was an honor to write the website copy, marketing materials, Case for Support development for the Capital Campaign, create donor appreciation models, and serve as interim Development Director. https://psds.org

Organizational Development & Fundraising

Ascend supports women and girls in Afghanistan in finding their leadership voice. They empower participants to explore leadership, fitness, and service through the sport of mountain climbing and the act of community service. Since 2016, Brenda has served as an organizational development and fundraising consultant, helping to establish policies and procedures, operations, fundraising events, and board development efforts. Brenda has been assisting recently with Afghanistan evacuation efforts, and as an Advisory Board member helping to envision Ascend’s future. Ascend will be launching in Pakistan in 2023. https://ascendathletics.org

Grant Writing & Management

GALS Denver schools are the only tuition-free, public, all-girls college preparatory schools in Colorado. Although part of Denver Public Schools, GALS’ innovative model of social-emotional learning and mental health wellness is not entirely covered by public funding. GALS must find additional support each year to fund the resources that make them unique and supports student success the most. Since 2018, Brenda has served as Grants Manager, developing a robust grants program producing institutional, corporate, and foundation support, and has more than doubled the amount of grants produced each year. https://galsdenver.org
